And now a flying motorcycle

by John on April 23, 2009

SkyBike First there was the flying car and now there is the flying motorcycle. Created by Samson Motorworks, the kit-built SkyBike is the first flying version of the vehicle to be unveiled (outside of Hollywood that is) and is equipped with a flat-panel instrument display (that can change automatically from ground instruments to flight instruments), extendable wings and a ballistic chute recovery system. Seating two, the SkyBike has a maximum speed of 95 mph on wheels and 140 mph in the air and a range of 500 miles on the ground and 220 miles in the air.

In the words of its manufacturer, the SkyBike is “quick enough for the fast lane, legal in the carpool lane, and sexy enough for the red carpet.”

We couldn’t agree more!
