The Chinese Are Coming (Into General Aviation…). With the Chinese influence front and center at the recent NBAA convention in Las Vegas, AVweb’s Russ Niles has a podcast interview with the Teal Group’s Richard Aboulafia who talked about how the Chinese market might impact general aviation. Apparently, some of his observations may surprise you.

Morgan Stanley Analyst Bullish on Business Aviation. Meanwhile and according to an interview posted on on AOPA Live, a top Morgan Stanley analyst is bullish on business aviation. Specifically, Heidi Wood was interviewed and she commented that (historically) business jet recessions do not last longer than three years and that the industry has already reached that mark. In addition, Heidi noted that US corporate cash balances are at an all-time high but a decrease in “political overhang” could speed up the recovery process.

Real World Flight Simulator Training. On a different note and if you want to do serious flight simulator training at home, General Aviation News has mentioned the new the Flight Simulator Training Guide which includes 15 detailed lesson plans that are tailored to flight simulator flying. These lesson plans include suggested maneuvers, completion standards and study resources while the Microsoft Flight Simulator X scenarios for each lesson are included on CD-ROM. Sporty’s Flight Simulator Training guide is available for $34.95 from Sportys.com while the Microsoft FlightSim X is available for $39.95.
