Fun New T-Shirts from Sporty’s. Meanwhile, General Aviation News has noted that Sporty’s has four new and fun t-shirts available. One shirt has the message: “It only takes two things to fly: Airspeed and Money.” Another one charts the four forces of flight which are “dreams (up), reality (down), money (forward) and the FAA (backward).” A third shirt explains the FAA’s mission (“We’re not happy until you’re not happy”) and the forth shirt gives the dictionary definition of pilot, which is: “The highest form of life on earth.” All four shirts are available from medium through extra-extra large for US$15.95 each.
Pireps or Pilot Reports and Sigmets Explained. In case you are wondering what some of that information is in Pireps or Pilot Reports is (reports that are used by pilots to let other pilots know of conditions that may not have been forecast or expected), Blake has posted a very detailed explanation on his Fly With Blake blog. He has also posted an example of a Sigmet (a way of letting pilots know of dangerous flying conditions in a particular area).

However and if you are grounded because you live in snowy Northern Latitudes, General Aviation News has reported that the latest version of the My Traffic flight simulator series has just been released. The simulator is optimized for the Microsoft Flight Simulator X and provides realistic air traffic in the air and on the ground for more than 8,200 airports and 140 aircraft models. In other words, something to keep you busy all winter long!

Czech-made LSA SportCruiser Review. And finally Andrew from the Let’s Go Flying blog has taken a Czech made LSA SportCruiser up for a spin and he has posted a review of the aircraft covering take-off, flying and landing. Andrew found the plane to be “spiffy, fun, easy to fly, and quite capable of taking you places” with the major drawback being the fact that its Czech maker has re-emerged from bankruptcy and could go bankrupt again – an inherent risk when purchasing an aircraft from most LSA makers.
