Aviation’s Biggest Stories of 2012. CNN has compiled a list of the top 10 aviation stories of 2012 with the number one story being the collapse of the merger between EADS and BAE Systems.
2012 General Aviation and Bush Piloting Trends. The Alaska Dispatch has compiled a list of general aviation trends that include Cockpit cameras, X-Plane, the Cessna 162 Skycatcher, high-end headsets and fuel efficient engines. However, iPads in the cockpit and Webinars were listed as no longer being trends as they have become institutionalized.
Sporty’s Trends for 2012. Sporty’s President Michael Wolf has also put together a rundown of this year’s trends which included much of what was listed in the Alaska Dispatch article. Additions included the continued evolution of flight training, learning on the go and the popularity of affordable used airplanes and LSAs.
Airline Biz Blog’s Top 2012 Stories. Terry Maxon of the Dallas Morning has been writing a blog post for each and every one of the top 10 aviation stories of 2012 with an emphasis on airline stories.
The Aviationist’s Top 5 stories of 2012. David Cenciotti, the blogger behind the Aviationist, has also compiled his top 5 blog posts for the year that weren’t necessarily the site’s most popular posts, but do a good job of characterizing the year. Top 10 Air Safety Institute Products of 2012. The AOPA Air Safety Institute has compiled a list of the top ten ASI products of 2012 consisting of the most often watched/read content that they have produced. The content includes videos, webcasts answering questions posed to ATC representatives and a set of training flash cards.
Top Experimental Aircraft Association and AirVenture.org Stories. The Experimental Aircraft Association has posted a list of the 15 most-read stories of 2012 from their site with the top clicked-on story being about the buried Spitfires discovered in Myanmar (Burma). They have also posted a list of the top 10 stories from AirVenture.org.
