The British Interplanetary Society (a well-respected learned society) has teamed up with Surrey Satellite Technology to offer a unique way to participate in space flight and support the BIS Appeal.
Members can put their name on a small chip on the UK-DMC-2 satellite which will be launched this summer.
Here’s the procedure: 1) Join the BIS online, 2) submit your name online.
Total cost £133 143 (£43 for membership including a subscription to their magazine, £90 for your name to be immortalised on a satellite). I call that pretty cheap.
