MASK (Mobile Art School in Kenya), a UK registered charity No 1128734, seeks volunteer aviators to undertake a 2 week aviation adventure from London to Kenya in order to raise funds in support of education for creativity and innovation for young people in East Africa. Unfortunately, there are no further details posted about the “aviation adventure” per se in the article posted on the AOPA website.
As for MASK, it has worked in 20 schools in Kenya and benefited more than 25,000 young people since 2006. This year, MASK launched the MASK ART PRIZE, an annual national art competition that promotes creative education and increases the number of young people involved in visual art.
According to MASK, education for creativity is virtually none existent in schools in East Africa and the creative resources of young people diminishes from 98% when a child is 5 to 2% by the age of 25. For those reasons, MASK provides practical opportunities for young people to grow into creative and innovative professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs.
