Sporty’s Celebrates its 50th Anniversary. General Aviation News has a wonderful profile of Hal Shevers, the founder of Sporty’s – which is also celebrating its 50th anniversary of being in business. Ironically, Shrevers, who founded one of the most well known brands for general aviation training and products, almost did not become a pilot because of a “lazy” right eye.
