Why duct tape is an Alaskan pilot’s best friend

Janice Wood has posted these amazing pictures on General Aviation News that show why duct tape can be a pilot’s best friend. Apparently, a pilot and some fishermen went on a fly-in fishing excursion in Alaska and left a cooler stocked with bait in their aircraft. Why they would do that up in Alaskan bear country does not make any sense and you can see the results of what happened when a passing bear caught a whiff of the bait in the aircraft.

The pilot was forced to radio another pilot to bring him two new tires, a supply of sheet plastic and three cases of duct tape. He then patched the aircraft back together and flew it home.

And although Janice cannot attest to the veracity of the story, the pictures do look amazing!
