Flyabout – movie review

by Matthew Stibbe on November 5, 2009

I just watched Flyabout, a movie by Monika Petrillo about her flight around Australia with her father. It is a partly a film about flying but also a film about family relationships and personal discovery. It is inspired by the Aboriginal tradition of a ‘walkabout’ and it has something of that ‘anything may happen’ mood. I enjoyed it very much and recommend it to any pilot.

I met Monika at AirVenture 2009 and we spent an hour together over coffee. She’s a fun lady and has made an incredible movie of her experiences in Australia. It’s now on my list of places where I want to fly.
