Gulfstream rolls out the G650

Jon Ostrower has posted a photo album and a video from the recent G650 rollout ceremonies on FlightBlogger (He has also posted some great photos from inside the plant in another blog entry). In case you are not familiar with the aircraft, the G650 is a new twin-engine business jet being developed by Gulfstream and the aircraft will fly at cruise speeds of Mach 0.85 to 0.90 and have a range of up to 7,000 nmi (13,000 km) with 8 passengers and four crew.

Jon pointed out that the first thing someone notices when walking around the aircraft is incredibly clean wing. In addition, he also pointed out that the aircraft’s windows are 16% larger than the G550’s and this makes the aircraft look smaller from a distance. His conclusion: this is one good looking aircraft (then again, he admits that he has yet to see an aircraft that he didn’t think was good-looking!)

Customer deliveries are expected to begin in 2012.
