New Skyhawk seating configuration

The Aerotrader Insider blog has picked up on a recent press release by Cessna announcing a new new seating option for the Skyhawk. Buyers will now have the option of ordering a Skyhawk with a Crew/Cockpit Resource Management (CRM) training seat. According to John Doman, Cessna’s Vice President of Worldwide Propeller Aircraft Sales:

This new seat configuration option for the Skyhawk was designed with airline training schools and university flight programs in mind. Moving the second student forward and to the center of the aircraft increases his or her visibility of the flight deck and allows the student to be more involved in the flight as a crew member versus a passenger.

Since 1955, more than 43,000 Skyhawks have been delivered – making it one of the oldest and the most popular fixed-wing aircraft ever manufactured.
